Our shop won the Mohammad Bin Rashid Prize for the Best Starting Business in the Middle East 2012!

We took a trip to Dubai last December for the Award Ceremony. It was a wonderful experience and a huge honor for our shop to be recognized in the GCC countries.

In-School Spelling Bee Competition Winners Event

Dhahran Ahlyya School hosted a Spelling Bee for its students this month. The winners were awarded a trip to one of our events :)
We read a story, did some art work, wrote a short story, and decorated a mini cake :)

Celebrating One Year of Events with Grandma’s Stories

It’s been one year!! Can you imagine?
We celebrated our achievements with Grandma’s Stories with some very fun activities. We listened to a story about growing older and tied that with the fact that our shop is one year old.
The kids did some art work and then went crazy with face painting, henna, and tattoos!
They decorated some cupcakes and presented them to us as a gift under our cake.

International Day for Kids with Special Needs

Our shop hosted an event aimed at introducing kids to people with special needs.
They listened to a story about a child with special needs and then they made and decorated some sugar cookies which they later sold to people in the mall. They proceeds went to children with special needs charity.

Alzheimer’s Disease Charity Event (School Competition Project)

Our Kids Cafe was part of a School Competition Project a few weeks ago. A group of girls called (Smart Sensors) in a school in Khobar, Saudi Arabia contacted us needing our kids cafe to hold an event about Alzheimer’s Disease.

We held charity bake sale where kids rolled, cut, and decorated sugar cookies and sold them in the mall to raise money for this cause.

While the cookies were baking in the oven, the girls talked to the children about the disease. What it is, how to treat people with it, and how to prevent it. They also taught them some memory techniques and played some fun games.

This group of amazing girls won the first prize at this competition :)

Ramadhan Night for Kids

Our shop hosted a Ramadhan Night for kids on Wednesday and Thursday the 27th and 28th of Ramadhan.

Kids attended wearing traditional clothes. They listened to a Religious story from before the Prophet’s birth Peace Be Upon Him

participated in a competition which was a story-related word puzzle.

Then, they all made some Eid cards for their moms decorated with colors, stars, sequins, stickers, etc.

They then made some paper lanterns and decorated them as well. They attached the cards to the lanterns and gifted them to their moms.

Last but not least, they each had their own mini cake to decorate with Ramadhan related premade fondant shapes. We had Vimto bottles, Crescents, Stars, Date pates, Coffee, etc.

We hope the kids had as much fun as we did!! :)
